PROGRAM:  Root Cause / Corrective Action is a significant continuous improvement tool providing objective evidence of corrective and preventive action as required by ISO 9001.  This talk will focus on improving the corrective action process and is condensed from PRI's popular seminar. We will quickly review a sure-fire method to improve root cause analysis and prevent the same mistakes from occurring over and over again.  The process is based on building cause chains to identify all sources of nonconformance once and for all.  The introduction to the class will also examine the base requirements and challenge the audience on compliance.

PRESENTER:  Sherry Poriss is Program Developer for Performance Review Institute (PRI), a not-for-profit, independent, trade association designed to provide shared conformity assessment services to the mobility industry.  PRI is an ISO Registrar and administrator of the National Aerospace & Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP).  Sherry has been involved in aerospace and automotive quality assurance for over ten years.  She has worked actively with OEMs, prime contractors and suppliers in the development of numerous NADCAP and Q-Pass standards and audit programs and served as Staff Engineer for the NADCAP Aerospace Quality System.  She has been instrumental in establishing and developing training programs for NADCAP special process and quality system auditors and has taught numerous quality auditing programs including AS9000, AS9100, Calibration Cooperative Auditor Training and Qualification, Root Cause Analysis, and others.  Sherry also worked actively with the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) to develop the AIAG/PRI 2nd Party Auditor Training and Qualification where she is an instructor.   She has also worked for PRI's affiliate SAE in the Technical Standards Division.
