PROGRAM: Use of Six Sigma in an ISO 9000 System
Six Sigma is a business improvement strategy focused on variation reduction and defect elimination. Being advocates of quality and process improvement, you understand that the Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology is not intended to provide "new tools." Instead, Six Sigma pulls many approaches and tools together into a powerful methodology for managing processes and obtaining results. To illustrate this methodology, the presentation will provide an example of a real-world process improvement project. Highlights of the presentation will include tools such as thought and process mapping, control charting, measurement system evaluation, design of experiments, analysis of variance, and control plans. In addition, lessons learned from a practitioner's point of view and the linkage of Six Sigma to ISO will be discussed.
